My art work is related to my everyday experiences.  Through drawing I keep a kind of a diary. Drawing for me is a way of writing; it keeps your personal way of thinking, your personal way of cutting and pasting things. Drawing is the primary mark that makes you sure about the existence of these thoughts, of these memories. My work uses drawing as a remembrance, as a thread that connects the moments that fade away. Changing the order of lines, like a small god, you can change the story, the fate of the memory.

The characters that I create could live in a Beckett play. They are trapped for ever in the same acts. Like goldfishes in a fishbowl, they are condemned to recycle the same memories, the same acts, and the same eternal feelings. That is what I’m interested in, this moment that looks like it stops forever.  Like you live in a paused moment and you repeat the same gestures, you say the same words, stuck in these moments before the aberration, before the big decisions that can change the plot of the story.  This pause reminds me of the myth of Sisyphus and that moment that leads the repeated gesture to the idea of the Absurd man.

I use elements of drawing in all of my work, even on my videos. I create my video works as a painter, as a drawer where editing keeps the idea of decision making that creates the space on paper; cut and paste in land of time. Furthermore, the body gestures that I use in my video works I always see them as lines on time, as choreography. I use video because some ideas cannot apply on paper. Probably because the traditional way of drawing on paper, does not include time and movement in the final piece, but only in the procedure of producing the drawing itself.

Drawing yourself means to erase your existence. To respecify it again, scatter and crash it. Draw the idea of yourself and be someone else, someone new.  Place one line next to the other; place them as if they are letters that create the word and translate the language. Speak and explain yourself through these marks on surface. Traces that ensure you about your fragile presence, marks that can preserve your memory alive in time.
